DIGITAL CONSTRUCTION CHAMPION OF THE YEAR

WINNER: DR MELANIE ROBINSON | OKANA

Our winner is an active champion for digital transformation across industry, working with clients and industry groups to demonstrate the value of digital innovation.

I’ll get to her day-job in a minute, but her extra-curricular work is something to behold. She is a regional lead for Women in BIM, she sits on the Building Safety Alliance’s special interest group for the golden thread, and she is on the BIM4Water steering group.
In the past year, her speeches and presentations have reached more than 1,000 audience members.

She guest-lectures at Newcastle University, Northumbria University and Edinburgh Napier University. She sits on the advisory board at the latter.

Somehow, she finds time for her day-job – and this might give away her identity. She’s an associate, leading a new division, where she promotes the idea that digital innovation is accessible to everyone with the right strategy.

She’s supporting Muse Places to comply with the golden thread; she’s led a significant digital transformation programme for Northumbrian Water Group; she’s supporting various NHS trusts with their digital requirements; and she led the development of the digital twin strategy for a premium car-maker that we’re not allowed to name.

Ultimately, her passion lies in making digital transformation accessible by bridging the gap between technical complexity and plain language. By fostering intelligent clients through better information management, she continues to drive meaningful change across the industry.
